DC Heroes May Return for an Epic Showdown: Rumors Suggest Injustice 3 in Development

DC’s Heroes Might Be Back! Injustice 3 Rumored to Be NetherRealm’s Next Project 🔥

After Warner Bros officially announced they’re ending post-launch support for Mortal Kombat 1, fans were left wondering: what’s next for NetherRealm Studios?

That question might have just been answered. According to popular leaker MultiVersus, who has a solid track record when it comes to fighting game news, the studio’s next big title is none other than Injustice 3. In a recent tweet, he stated plainly:

“NetherRealm’s next game is Injustice 3.”

This info, while still unofficial, fits perfectly with recent developments. MK1 support being cut off means resources are likely being redirected, and what better project to take over than a long-awaited superhero brawler?

🕹️ Why Injustice 3?

It’s been over 7 years since Injustice 2 launched in 2017, and fans have been begging for a third installment. The second game was a huge success, both critically and commercially, blending solid fighting mechanics with a rich DC Universe narrative.

With the DC cinematic universe about to reset under James Gunn’s leadership, now would be the perfect time to capitalize on that hype. Launching a new Injustice alongside rising interest in DC characters would be a masterstroke.

The franchise already has built-in appeal with iconic heroes like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and villains like Joker, Harley Quinn, and Darkseid. There’s also endless potential for introducing newer or lesser-known characters.

Fans across platforms like X and Reddit are already buzzing with speculation. Some are cautious, hoping the developers learned from MK1’s content drought and microtransaction criticisms. But overall, excitement is high.

People are asking:

“Will we finally see Constantine? What about Green Arrow? Is this where they redeem Superman’s arc?”
