A new report has delivered potentially exciting news about the GTA 6 PC Release. According to GamesBeat, Rockstar Games is targeting the first quarter of 2027 for its highly anticipated open-world adventure on computers. The information reportedly comes from four sources familiar with the developer's plans. However, Rockstar has not confirmed a PC version or its release window, so the reported date should not be treated as an official announcement.
GTA 6 PC Release: What the New Report Says
GamesBeat published its report on October 13, 2026, stating that Rockstar plans to release the PC edition during the first three months of 2027. The publication attributes this information to four industry sources who requested anonymity. A Rockstar representative did not respond to its request for comment before publication. Although the report provides a specific launch window, it does not establish a final release date or confirm that the plan cannot change.

GamesBeat identifies the first quarter of 2027 as Rockstar's reported PC target.
Four Sources
The information comes from four unnamed people familiar with the studio's plans.
No Official Date
Rockstar has not announced a PC launch or published a final release date.
Console Release
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S remain scheduled for November 19, 2026.
A Much Shorter PC Wait Than GTA V?
If the reported schedule holds, the PC version of GTA 6 would follow the console launch after a relatively short wait. That would mark a major change compared with GTA V, which launched on consoles in September 2013 before arriving on PC in April 2015. Nevertheless, a development target is not a guarantee, and Rockstar could revise its plans if additional optimization or testing is necessary.
| GTA V | GTA 6 | |
|---|---|---|
| Initial Console Launch | September 2013 | November 19, 2026 |
| PC Release | April 2015 | Q1 2027 reported |
| PC Release Status | Released | Not officially announced |
| Console-to-PC Wait | About 19 months | Potentially a few months |
What Has Rockstar Officially Confirmed?
- October 13, 2026 GamesBeat Report A report based on four unnamed sources suggests a Q1 2027 PC release.

Why Does an Early PC Release Matter?
- Less Waiting: PC players could experience GTA 6 much sooner than they did GTA V.
- Platform Choice: Players who prefer PC may be less pressured to buy a console solely for GTA 6.
- Future Modding: Rockstar's history with FiveM makes the PC community especially relevant, although GTA 6 mod support remains unconfirmed.
- Technical Questions: Rockstar has not published PC hardware requirements or performance targets.
- Launch Uncertainty: Optimization, testing and development decisions could still change any internal release plan.
Should PC Players Wait for GTA 6?
For players planning to buy a console specifically for GTA 6, this report introduces an important consideration. A PC release within the first quarter of 2027 would mean a considerably shorter wait than expected. But without confirmation from Rockstar, there is no guarantee that the target will be met. Players should avoid treating the reported window as a firm purchasing or upgrade deadline.
