Insert the Game-Key Card The documented physical Nintendo Switch 2 edition uses a Game-Key Card. Unlike a conventional cartridge containing the complete software, it provides access to downloadable game data.
Prepare Your Storage Check the required free space printed on the regional package. You can store downloaded game data in the console's internal memory or on a compatible microSD Express card.
Download the Required Data Connect your console to the internet, insert the card and follow the on-screen download instructions. Nintendo does not require a Nintendo Account solely to download Game-Key Card data.
Launch and Play Complete the initial online setup before playing. Afterward, an ongoing internet connection is not normally required for the downloaded game, but the Game-Key Card must remain inserted.
