What you are covered for after you buy, how returns work, and what our maintenance service does.

What warranty comes with a new console?

New consoles generally carry a one-year warranty. Some products come with an official agent warranty instead — IBS, for example — which can run up to two years depending on the product. Either way, Games 2 Egypt stays your main point of contact: you deal with us throughout the warranty process rather than being sent to chase the agent yourself.

Do pre-owned consoles and games have a warranty?

Yes, and the length depends on the item. Pre-owned PS4 and PS5 consoles can carry up to one year. Pre-owned Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series S and X consoles carry six months. Pre-owned controllers carry one month. The exact term is confirmed at the time of purchase, so ask when you buy.

What does the warranty cover, and what does it not cover?

The warranty covers eligible manufacturing and technical defects, subject to inspection. It does not cover misuse, physical damage, breakage, liquid damage, burns, or damage caused by incorrect use. It also does not cover a unit that someone else has already tried to repair — an unauthorised repair attempt voids the cover, so bring it to us first rather than opening it.

What is your return policy?

Returns and replacements are accepted within one month, provided the product is unused and in the same condition you received it. New game discs must still be sealed and unopened. For consoles, controllers and accessories we are more flexible: we can accept a return even if the outer packaging was opened, as long as the product and everything inside is still new, complete and unused.

Can I exchange a game I do not like?

We may buy the game back from you if it is in excellent condition with no scratches or visible damage. Ordinary buy-back depends on the title, the condition and whether we need the stock. There is a better route if you act fast: if you bring the game back within 10 days of purchase, we will buy it back regardless of whether we need the stock, and at a better value — as long as it is still in excellent condition.

What do I do if my product arrives damaged?

Contact us or visit a branch. If a branch confirms the damage, we replace the item immediately when we have one available, or refund you immediately if we do not. For delivery orders: if the courier is still with you, hand it straight back. If the courier has gone, we send a replacement when one is available and cover the delivery cost ourselves, or we refund you.

Do you repair consoles and controllers?

Yes — consoles, controllers and headsets, depending on the fault. Maintenance items are accepted at all branches except Alexandria. Some faults can be fixed on the spot at our Bostan Mall branch; other cases are transferred to our maintenance centre.

How long does a repair take?

Usually one to three days maximum, and that holds even when a weekend or an official holiday falls inside that window. Before we hand a repaired item back to you, it is tested — we do not return a unit without checking that the fault is actually gone.

Do you buy used consoles and games?

Yes, on selected items. Whether we buy depends on the item type, its condition and our current stock needs. Payment is made in cash only — not points, not store credit, and not credit against another purchase. If you want to use the cash to buy something else from us, you can, but the two are handled as separate transactions.

How do you price a used console I want to sell?

Three things decide it: what the item is, what condition it is in, and whether we currently need that stock. Condition carries real weight — scratches and visible damage lower the figure, and an item in excellent condition with its box and cables gets a better one. Bring it to a branch and we will inspect it and quote you on the spot.
